Camping Utensils That Can Be Re-Used Forever

Camping Utensils That Can Be Re-Used Forever

Nobody wants to eat with their hands while camping -- they're dirty enough after a day outdoors to make this an unattractive option. But the cutlery options are hardly any better. Bringing silverware from home is cumbersome, and single-use plastic utensils quickly fill up your trash can. Worse, they become a pernicious piece of campsite litter.

So what can we do? We can make a better, more sustainable choice with our camping cutlery. Here is GoSun's solution to combat the single-use plastic problem

GoSun's Flatware replaces single-use plastic utensils. It's the only reusable utensil set that can actually fit into your wallet, so you don't need to remember to bring it with you. With Flatware, you'll never have to reach for the single-use plastic again. This is the best

Gosun's Flatware is the world's first credit-card-sized cutlery set, and with it you'll never have to throw away single-use plastic again. Flatware is a complete set with a fork, spoon, and a little serrated knife, plus a hygienic case to protect you from unwanted grease. It's made from durable stainless steel.

Flatware is thin enough to fit in your wallet so you always have it with you. GoSun wants you to love your Flatware set so we can kiss single-use plastics goodbye.

Getting the Most Out of Flatware

Here's how to use it (see video below if you want visual instructions). Unclip each utensil from a protective case with a nail or fingertip. In the side finger slot holding the sheath in one hand, slide the utensil out until it clicks into position.

To collapse back down, squeeze both of the springs and press the utensil into the sheath clip back into the case and you're ready to roll. If you find your Flatware to be a bit sticky, we recommend a small dab of coconut oil or other cooking oil between the utensil and the sheet. Sometimes the utensils need a tiny adjustment as it can get racked, requiring straightening or being pushed down too far into the sheath.

Use Flatware just like a normal utensil - skewer with a fork, slice with a serrated side of the spoon, and spread, stir, scoop, and enjoy scrumptious savory spicy or sweet snacks. Flatware works great as a flat utensil, although some people may want to add more shape to their set. If that's you, we encourage you to gently bend the utensil head's neck until it's at the optimal bend angle.

However, after bending, keep in mind that your utensil will have a harder time sliding in the sheath and may require two hands. Some people may prefer the feel of Flatware when the utensils are flipped over in the sheath, making different contact points on your hands.

Maintaining a sanitized set is easy if you use a little soap and water after every use. Avoid using abrasive Scrubbies if you want to maintain the pristine polish on the stainless steel when loading into the dishwasher or UV sterilization chamber.

We recommend completely removing the utensil from the sheath. To do this, you pull the utensil out in the same direction that you'll use it. Don't forget to wash the protective case as well when reloading the utensil. Be careful that the springs are located within the sheath.

Flatware can be stored even while wet as it's made 100% from stainless steel. Also if you're on the move, Flatware can be wiped clean and then stored dirty while keeping your belongings away from the food debris. Each set comes wrapped in a paper box that doubles as an educational tool. For anyone interested in flatware, tear apart the six awareness cards to give them something to take home and learn more.
